I Need a Siesta

A great night out but a siesta is definitely going to be required this afternoon! Not entirely accurate (quite stereotypical when it comes to what we supposedly ate!) but a great poem summing up what it’s like to live in Spain.

In the morning light,
As the sun begins to rise,
A feeling of sleepiness,
Overcomes my tired eyes.

Last night we dined on tapas,
In a Spanish restaurant divine,
Sipping on Rioja,
As we laughed and shared our time.

The flavours of paella and chorizo,
Still dance upon my tongue,
And memories of the laughter,
Are like a symphony unsung.

We moved on to a cozy wine bar,
Where the atmosphere was warm,
And the glasses kept on pouring,
Until we felt reborn.

Now as I sit here nodding,
In the early morning haze,
I think back on the laughter,
And the memories that we made.

So let the siesta come,
And wash over me like a wave,
For the night was filled with friendship,
And memories that we’ll save.
