Up the Mariners!

After last night’s historic victory for Grimsby Town and the draw giving them a trip to Brighton in the quarter finals of the FA Cup, I just had to get ChatGPT to create something for my friends from the North!

Congratulations to my Grimsby supporting friends,
On their victory at Southampton, where their triumph never ends.
The Mariners sailed through the seas of victory,
With skill, determination, and footballing mastery.

Their fans sang loud, and their hearts were true,
As they cheered their team on to victory anew.
The pride of Grimsby, they shone like the sun,
And they proved once again that they’re second to none.

So let’s raise a glass to this historic win,
And the journey that’s yet to begin.
For we’ll meet again in Brighton city,
Where the seaside air is fresh and pretty.

Whether we win or lose, we’ll all celebrate,
The joy of football that brings us together, it’s great!
For in the end, it’s not just about who wins,
But the memories we make and the joy that brings.

So here’s to my Grimsby supporting friends,
Whose passion for football never ends.
I’ll see you in Brighton city, where we’ll have a ball,
And celebrate our love for the game, one and all.

Oooooh! What’s this? A book to fund my trip to Brighton v Grimsby???!!!

Saving Harry Haddock

This one goes out to all of my Grimsby supporting friends travelling to Southampton for the FA Cup tie tonight (1/3/23).

In the depths of the ocean blue,
Where waves crash and currents brew,
Lived Harry Haddock, a fish so small,
He dreamed of adventure, of seeing it all.

But fate had other plans in store,
For Harry found himself out of his core,
Caught in a net, he was taken away,
To a strange world, he couldn’t stay.

Alone and scared, he swam and swam,
Searching for a way out, an escape plan,
And just when he thought all was lost,
He met Captain Cod, a friend at all cost.

With a hook for a hand and a heart of gold,
Captain Cod became Harry’s guide and stronghold,
Together, they braved the dangers of the deep,
And Harry learned a lesson he’d always keep.

That home is where the heart is, and love is the key,
To surviving a world that’s vast and scary,
So thanks to Captain Cod and his helping hand,
Harry found his way back to his ocean land.

And though he’ll never forget the trials he faced,
He’ll always remember the kindness and grace,
Of Captain Cod, his friend and saviour,
Who showed him the meaning of true bravery and favour.
