Saving Harry Haddock

This one goes out to all of my Grimsby supporting friends travelling to Southampton for the FA Cup tie tonight (1/3/23).

In the depths of the ocean blue,
Where waves crash and currents brew,
Lived Harry Haddock, a fish so small,
He dreamed of adventure, of seeing it all.

But fate had other plans in store,
For Harry found himself out of his core,
Caught in a net, he was taken away,
To a strange world, he couldn’t stay.

Alone and scared, he swam and swam,
Searching for a way out, an escape plan,
And just when he thought all was lost,
He met Captain Cod, a friend at all cost.

With a hook for a hand and a heart of gold,
Captain Cod became Harry’s guide and stronghold,
Together, they braved the dangers of the deep,
And Harry learned a lesson he’d always keep.

That home is where the heart is, and love is the key,
To surviving a world that’s vast and scary,
So thanks to Captain Cod and his helping hand,
Harry found his way back to his ocean land.

And though he’ll never forget the trials he faced,
He’ll always remember the kindness and grace,
Of Captain Cod, his friend and saviour,
Who showed him the meaning of true bravery and favour.
