Running With The Bulls

This poem is in honour of those who feel the need to challenge themselves during the San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain.

In Pamplona’s streets, the frenzy unfolds,
A spectacle of daring, where courage takes hold,
With pounding hearts, the brave souls align,
To face the beast, the moment divine.

In the morning haze, anticipation brews,
A primal dance, where adrenaline ensues,
Through cobbled lanes, they dash like the wind,
In pursuit of valour, where legends begin.

For some, it’s not just a race to survive,
But a quest for life’s essence, where passions revive,
In each thunderous step, a freedom is found,
A moment suspended, with danger unbound.

With horns that pierce, and hooves that thunder,
The pulse of life beats fierce, like no other,
For in facing death’s might, they feel truly alive,
In the midst of chaos, their spirits strive.

So let us marvel at those who dare,
To run with the bulls, with hearts so rare,
For in their courage, we glimpse our own strife,
And understand the thrill of risking one’s life.

Scotland the Brave

MacNificent! Scotland were incredible in beating Spain last night, so ChatGPT has written a homage to the team. I have tidied it up a bit more than usual this time.

In bonnie Scotland, land of hills and heather,
The men in kilts showed they could play together.
With haggis in their bellies and whisky in their veins,
They ran the Spanish off the field, leaving them in pains.

The Scots were tough, like the highland cattle,
Defending their goal with grit and mettle.
Their accents were thick, like a hearty stew,
And when they scored, a battle cry or two.

The Spaniards, meanwhile, were not so brave,
With flamenco in their blood ’twas wine they craved.
They couldn’t match Scotch passion and drive,
They triumphed on the field, making all Scots thrive.

So here’s to Scotland, land of heroes and mist,
Defeating the Spanish, who surely missed
Their siestas and their long, leisurely meals,
When they had to face off against Scotland’s fiery zeal.
